Icelandic musician Kaktus Einarsson is back with the emotional album “Lobster Coda” – and coming to Berlin

Somewhere between his gently melting neo-soul timbre and a
pop music influenced by greats like Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark, Kaktus
Einarsson also nonchalantly captivates many people with his second album
“Lobster Coda” before you pay attention to the lyrics for the first time and
realize that they are marked by a rather dark time.

A neurological disorder threw Kaktus Einarsson off track a few years ago at a time when he had just moved with his young family into a newly purchased house and realized that much of the financial pressure that came with it was now on his shoulders and his music career.

At one of his father's exhibitions, he suffered a breakdown.
“My eyes started to feel strange, my vision was blurry, and I had a panic attack. In the end, I lost all strength in my father's arms. It was very painful, I had no control over my body. In the emergency room, I was told that it was functional paralysis. It's a disorder between the brain and nervous system.”

“Lobster Coda” now deals with the process of healing, which is not yet fully completed, but which enabled him to complete the album and to play shows again in the coming year. Release day is October 25th, but anyone who listens to the upfront released songs “Be This Way”, “White Burn” and “Gumbri” quickly realizes that Kaktus Einarsson has used his music to play and write himself healthy.

Gentle, epic, lively and groovy, they give a taste of what his return to the stage on February 13th at the Monarch in Berlin has to offer.
