In the ‘Unterwegs’ exhibition, nüüd.berlin gallery is showing paintings by Berlin artist Sabine Beyerle (*1975) that tell of being on the move. While travelling, the artist collects ideas for her paintings with her camera - this can be in the far distance, but also just around the corner in a Berlin backyard or in a Brandenburg meadow landscape. She draws attention to the fleeting and inconspicuous, structures and details that often go unnoticed.

Pours of colour, generous brushstrokes and dissolutions characterise the beginning of her working process and form the background of her paintings; these abstract ‘empty spaces’ often remain enigmatic, invite chance and chaos and combine with precise naturalistic painting. They function as formal pictorial elements, visual disturbances or also as symbols for movement, wind, energy or growth and provide space for individual interpretations.
