City Country Architecture and Film

The author Aviva Barkhourdarian looks back on her father Wiegen's Berlin in the 1960s and early 1970s and tells his stories.

The stories are about a hand-knotted carpet, a wall that separates the city and the people, daughters on both sides of the wall, various secret services, the Shah of Persia, an Armenian assassin, noisy students, pomegranates and more. She collects old and new material and mixes and animates it into a cheerful collage full of serious events. How does world politics affect his life and what has become of his dreams?
