Diskussion mit Philipp Hübl und Florian Schroeder

olarization, populism, student protests, shitstorms: At first glance, the actors are concerned with justice, but in reality it is often just a status game. Because moral prestige makes us attractive and gains recognition in the group, moral judgments rarely serve to eliminate grievances, but rather as symbols of status and group membership, as a form of capital or as weapons in competition.

The philosopher Philipp Hübl and the satirist Florian Schroeder have both spent a long time dealing with morality. Schroeder in his book "End of Freedom of Opinion" and Hübl in his "Moral Spectacle".

On this occasion, both discuss public excitement, symbolic politics and identity capitalism. How did the moral spectacle come about and what can be done about it?
