Triggered by the state’s femicide of the Kurdish woman Mahsa Jina Amini, Iran has experienced a sustained public revolt by women (and men) since 16 September 2022, which is unique in the Iranian history of protests. This time, the Islamic Republic is confronted with their prime enemy: women.
