Garden tour with park district manager Jan Uhlig, SPSG

The Peacock Island is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is a nature reserve of European importance with a variety of species-rich biotopes and an impressive old tree population. This requires a special approach to preserving the site.

During the tour, the nature conservation and garden monument preservation objectives are explained.

Visitors learn interesting facts about measures that are being implemented in the interests of nature and monument protection, such as the preservation of the old tree population, the grazing of the meadows with sheep and water buffalo, the creation of small bodies of water and the maintenance of the heathland.

Current problems and challenges are also highlighted.
