The debate format Streit & Zuversicht from ZEIT STIFTUNG BUCERIUS, Heimathafen Neukölln and Holtzbrinck Berlin is entering the next round. This time we are dealing with the question: Is "creating peace without weapons" over forever? Let's debate!

At a time when geopolitical tensions, wars and military conflicts dominate world events and the news, we are discussing the pressing question: How do people clearly position themselves on issues such as rearmament and deployments of the Bundeswehr?
"Creating peace without weapons" was for a long time a shining ideal in the hope of a world in which conflicts can be resolved purely through dialogue and diplomacy. But in view of the current global threats, such as the Russian war of aggression, this ideal seems almost unattainable. The event sheds light on the inner conflict that many of us feel. Do we have to say goodbye to the idea of a peace without weapons for good?
Streit & Zuversicht invites everyone to be part of this exciting debate. Here two opposing opinions meet, presented and argued by debaters from the Berlin Debating Union.
They are supported by experts who are confronted with the consequences of security policy crises on a daily basis, as well as by scientists from the fields of philosophy, sociology and law who help us to contextualize our moral and social responsibility in current events.
