One spring morning, Antonia leaves her farm in a mountain village. She had all the cows transported away beforehand. Her niece and budding philosopher Agnes finds her again in the psychiatric hospital - and remembers: growing up with the animals; the tracks she followed with her dog through the forest and over the mountains; the summer with the cows on the mountain pasture. Little by little, she understands Antonia's inner conflict.
