The late classicist villa can be seen from afar thanks to its striking octagonal tower. The stately residence – built on the highest point of the Barnim Plateau – is a gem in Berlin's monument landscape.

Today, Schloss Biesdorf, the municipal gallery of the Marzahn-Hellersdorf district, presents changing exhibitions of contemporary art and art from the GDR free of charge and is a venue for a wide variety of events – from concerts and guided tours to discussions with artists, lectures and literary formats.

The 14-hectare Schlosspark Biesdorf, which was placed under protection 60 years ago by the district of Lichtenberg and was then included in the GDR monument list together with Schloss Biesdorf on September 25, 1979, is one of the most beautiful public green spaces in the city with its design, its stock of old trees and its so diverse uses. At the end of the 19th century, Albert Brodersen, who later became Berlin's municipal garden director, designed the park on behalf of Wilhelm von Siemens in the style of an English landscape garden.
