Marietta
Back to the 60s
Just a short walk from the Schönhauser Allee S-Bahn station is the Berlin bar Marietta. The 60s-style décor is unmistakeable. The inside is dominated by kidney-shaped tables with chequerboard patterns, armchairs, and orange lamps. Both gay and straight regulars have been meeting here for over ten years to drink wine or enjoy delicious cocktails. The perfect place to start your night out in Berlin. The Wednesday evening "Pink Martini" night is especially recommended for gay people. This evening is so popular and has so many gay regulars that it gets very crowded in Marietta. The bar is one of the most long-standing gay meeting places in Prenzlauer Berg. Especially in summer, patrons spread themselves out over the broad pavement in front of the bar.
