Lovis

Fine dining in a former women’s prison

Kantstrasse is known for innumerable international restaurants. LOVIS is added to this list of interesting restaurants here. The lights behind the windows of the old brick building that was once a women’s prison shine promisingly, and invite you to spend an enjoyable evening here.  You enter the Charlottenburger Hinterhof through a grey steel door, which – depending upon the season- takes you in with lush greenery.

The original brick building was redesigned as a retreat with a lot of flair, which also accommodates Hotel Wilma along with the Lovis restaurant, as well as an art and showroom. The dining area itself lies in the prison’s covered inner courtyard, which looks like it is immersed in starlight due to the illuminations of the light manufacturer Bocci.  Enjoy the enchanted ambience and the excellent young German cuisine. Head chef Sophia Rudolph had already created a name for herself in another location in Berlin and she is known for her sustainable and home-based approach that simultaneously includes a new interpretation of traditional dishes.
