About 500 m from the hotel, in a lovely villa on Fasanenstraße, visitors will find the Käthe Kollwitz Museum showcasing works from the legendary artist and sculptor. Just 15 minutes’ walk away on Ernst-Reuter-Platz, you’ll also find the temporary Bauhaus-Archiv, showcasing sculpture, paintings, photography, furniture and more from the avant-garde Bauhaus school. At Zoologischer Garten station, a similar distance from the hotel, you can check out temporary exhibitions of international photography at C/O Berlin in the listed Amerika-Haus building.

Eating well is an art all of its own in chic City West. Foodies aren’t limited to the (admittedly delicious) fare on offer at the Park Plaza Berlin. Those who prefer to roam a little further afield will find plenty to delight them on the stylish streets off Lietzenburger Straße. The food here is as cosmopolitan as the surroundings – check out Dudu 31, an Asian restaurant just a stone’s throw from the hotel, and the elegant Franco-German Diekmann. For flavours of the Middle East, check out Marooush, practically on the hotel’s doorstep.
For culture vultures still hungry for a taste of the Berlin art scene, stop by the Paris Bar. Just 10 minutes’ walk from the hotel, this restaurant is renowned as a meeting place for artists and film-makers – with an inspiring atmosphere and creative French bistro cuisine to boot.
If that’s not hip enough for you, take a stroll down to the charming Ludwigkirchplatz and Savignyplatz, two delightful little spots around 400 and 900 m from the hotel respectively. On Savignyplatz, the bakery Zeit für Brot focuses on the traditional art of baking.
