Tip 9: Prove your strength with bouldering and climbing

If the weather is not so nice, then the city's numerous bouldering and climbing gyms are a great option. Climbing without a rope up to a height from which you can still jump off comfortably is just as established as the higher via ferratas in the climbing halls.

Beginners and taster climbers are just as welcome here as advanced climbers. And if you are drawn to the outdoors, you can explore the wonderful high ropes courses and climbing parks, where you can try out different courses with different levels of difficulty.

Tip 10: A different kind of gym - calisthenics in the park

A good alternative to the gym is calisthenics. In permanently installed sports parks, you can combine weight training and gymnastics and target entire muscle groups at the same time. You train exclusively with your own weight. The street workout climbing frames can be found in Park am Gleisdreieck, Böklerpark, Poststadion, Wuhlheide and many other places in Berlin. Push yourself to your limits with pull-ups, push-ups and handstands.

Tip 11: Compete at boules

The modern version of boules revolutionises the traditional sport and sends it into urban terrain. Boule has been played on the central reservation of Schlossstraße in Charlottenburg since the 1960s. The golden stag in Rudolph Wilde Park listens to the clicking and clacking of the balls late into the evening. Boules players also let the balls fly and roll in Mauerpark and Park am Gleisdreieck.
