11 Tips for delicious Roast Goose in Berlin

In keeping with St. Martin's Day on November 11, numerous Berlin restaurants serve delicious roast goose in November and in the pre-Christmas period. The goose roast is a traditional German speciality in this season. We've taken a look around the city's restaurants and put together 11 tips for delicious roast goose.

And for those who prefer vegetarian or vegan food, we also has a list of restaurants with vegetarian and vegan cuisine. It's best to reserve your table in advance, some restaurants also ask that you order the roast goose in advance.

Tip 1: Die Scheune

Perfect after a long walk through the forest Grunewald is the cosy restaurant Die Scheune. Here regional cuisine from Berlin and Brandenburg is on the menu. And the goose is one of the absolute highlights of Die Scheune: There is 1/4 goose for one person or a whole goose for four people. You can also order the goose online and then pick it up or have it delivered by the in-house goose delivery service. If you don't want to wait any longer, the restaurant already has the roast goose on the menu.

Restaurant Ebert is known throughout Berlin for its delicious roast goose and duck with tasty sauce and homemade apple red cabbage. By the way, the restaurant is located near the Kurfürstendamm, so you can enjoy it at the restaurant after a Christmas gift shopping spree. There is also a sumptuous offer for four people on the menu. Their season for goose roast starts on November 9.

Tip 3: Landhaus Hubertus

As every year, Landhaus Hubertus offers the most popular dish of the Christmas season: The delicious roast goose. You can enjoy classically prepared goose or game dishes, choosing between breast or leg or a whole roast, carved at the table by the chef. Please reserve your table in advance.

Tip 4: Oderquelle

In the rustic Oderquelle, St. Martin's Day is also the start of the season for juicy roast goose with crispy skin. The down-to-earth restaurant with pub charm has been around since 1990 and has been serving delicious traditional dishes ever since. As it is quite small, you should definitely book your table in advance.

Tip 5: Zur letzten Instanz

The classic in the district Mitte: Zur letzten Instanz is the oldest restaurant in Berlin. The cosy restaurant in Mitte serves regional products and thus combines traditional Berlin cuisine with sustainability. From November 11, the menu will also include the St. Martin's goose dinner for four or more people.

Tip 6: Alter Krug Dahlem

Why not combine a leisurely walk through the Botanical Garden in Dahlem with a stop at the restaurant Alter Krug Dahlem. The rustic restaurant specializes in hearty home cooking, and so from 11.11. the seasonal menu has included delicious roast goose. There is delicious crispy roast goose on the seasonal menu as a 3-course meal or as a whole goose for four people.

Tip 7: Funkturm-Restaurant

Goose with a view: Every Friday and Saturday from November 10, you can enjoy a magnificent view over the west of Berlin from 150 meters up in the restaurant in the radio tower while enjoying a delicious meal. The team will serve you a wintery goose feast or a vegan duck and a fine wine to accompany the panoramic view. The restaurant is open on Fridays and Saturdays.

Tip 8: Miteinander Restaurant

Leg, breast or both? In the restaurant Miteinander you can choose your favorite piece of roast meat. And for dessert, take the delicious gingerbread pancake with you and enjoy a festive evening in the restaurant. From 11 November, all the dishes on the Christmas menu will be ready for you to enjoy.

Tip 9: Ratskeller Köpenick

Because of  the great demand, the Ratskeller Köpenick starts its goose season already on November 3 and makes your mouth water. The juicy goose is glazed with spice honey, in addition kale or red cabbage and a Thüringer dumpling are served. And sweet tooths among you try the delicious "Hochstaplerin" from the dessert menu afterwards.

Goose or no goose: On November 11, roast goose will also be on the tables at the rustic Jäger & Lustig. Here, too, you can share a whole goose with four of you. Or you take the goose plate for one person or the menu with soup and dessert. Traditionally, all dishes are accompanied by red cabbage, kale, chestnuts, dumplings and gravy - it's sure to be delicious.

Oven-fresh goose from the oven: crispy and delicious, the goose from the Jelänger Jelieber restaurant comes to your table. You can order a quarter, half or whole goose, accompanied by apple red cabbage, kale and dumplings. You can also pre-order the geese to go.
