Music in Neukölln

Good music around every corner

Even over a hundred years ago, people were saying, “There is music to be found in Rixdorf”. To this day, good music can be heard at many corners throughout the borough.

Visit the Neuköllner Oper on Karl-Marx-Straße: The city’s fourth-largest opera house shows modern and often refreshingly unusual works. It also hosts eight to ten premieres per year.

There is a more traditional establishment just around the corner: The Heimathafen Neukölln was opened as an inn with a ballroom in 1875. Today, the Heimhathafen team presents a wide range of special acts, primarily music, from concerts by popular bands to the Fujiama NightClub talent show. Variety shows and comedy are also hosted here.

With its Stars in Concert, the Hotel Estrel on Sonnenallee offers a very unique show: Experience the world’s biggest stars here, from Madonna and Tina Turner to Elvis Presley. First-class impersonators take the stage and leave you with an evening you will never forget.

The Schloss & Gutshof Britz in southern Neukölln boasts a wide range of musical performances on three concert stages: Kulturstall, Freilichtbühne, and Gutshaus. A diverse line-up of performances is held here throughout the year:
“Handmade Music” can be heard from Neuköllner Country & Folk, and jazz fans will love the Jazz Festival. Rarely played operas or pieces once believed to have been lost are shown at the Sommeroper Festival.

Every year on 20 and 21 June, the longest day of the year, the entire borough celebrates a festival known all across Berlin and beyond: the Fête de la Musique. A large number of stages and countless artists turn Neukölln into their stage for a one-of-a-kind open-air party for two days.
