Königliche Gartenakademie (Royal Garden Academy)

Garden Culture and Garden Art

In the Royal Garden Academy near the Berlin Botanical Garden in Dahlem amateur gardeners can learn all about planting and garden design.

The grounds were once home to the Royal Horticulture Institute, initially founded by gardener Peter-Joseph Lenné in Potsdam and later moved to Dahlem. Gabriella Pape opened her Royal Garden Academy on 1 May 2008. Pape is an expert and author of several gardening books and newspaper columns. In addition to the garden school with courses for hobby gardeners, garden lovers are also invited to the site, enjoy the colourful flowers and take a tour. Every year, hundreds of thousands of visitors come here to relax and to seek inspiration.
A greenhouse-café is a lovely spot to while away the time as are the many flower beds and the historic rose garden restored in 2014.
