ICONIC im DRIVE. Volkswagen Group Forum

With the exhibition "ICONIC - A Timeless Journey of Culture, Society and Mobility", the Volkswagen Group is showcasing icons of modernity at its representative office in the capital that have shaped mobility, design, architecture and art from the 1950s to the present day.

Icons are the epitome of inspiration and encourage us to break new ground - in science and technology, in creativity and in society. They all share a unique history, identity and mission. ICONIC offers a view of icons of modernity who combine pioneering spirit and passion - outstanding personalities, technical innovations, visionary architecture and timeless design language.

Visitors can explore legendary vehicles from the Group brands in the unique exhibition, such as the legendary Bulli or the VW Beetle, as well as over 100 other, partly original exhibits from the fields of art, design, architecture, fashion, music and special moments from the past.

The special design of the exhibition space enables a tour through the individual decades from the 1950s to the future. With works by pop artist Andy Warhol and famous design objects, such as the Egg Chair by designer and architect Arne Jacobsen, unique perspectives on culture and society are opened up.

The multimedia room "Icons' World" offers guests an interactive experience. After the visual journey through time, the immersive landscape opened up a glimpse into the future. The multimedia projections bring to life visions of mobility, architectural worlds and technologies that will characterise the icons of tomorrow. They animate via touch-sensitive buttons and invite communication with "IDA", an empathic assistant based on artificial intelligence.

This turns ICONIC into an experience that shows people the wealth of ideas we can use to shape the world and the icons of tomorrow.

The exhibition is open daily, admission is free.

The DRIVE. Volkswagen Group Forum is the official representative office of Europe's largest automotive group in the heart of Berlin and sees itself as an open house of mobility. Here, the location says it all. At the legendary intersection of the magnificent boulevard Unter den Linden and the multifaceted Friedrichstraße, you will find a place of encounter where you can experience the fascination of mobility up close. An unprecedented concept in the automotive world, which turns a single building into the urban home of the Volkswagen Group's ten brands.

Changing exhibitions on brands and themes form the centrepiece of DRIVE. Those who want to delve deeper into the topics can also take part in a guided tour.

In addition, the DRIVE repeatedly becomes one of Berlin's major stages, providing space for art, design, sport, a look into the future and current affairs. The talks and discussion panels with high-calibre participants are firmly established here.

The traditional family business from Munich with its famous delicatessen offers a wide range of food and drinks of renowned high quality in its new daily restaurant on the corner of Friedrichstraße and Unter den Linden. To enjoy on site in a modern atmosphere or to take away in sustainable reusable packaging solutions 

A diverse selection of flammkuchen as well as bowls, soups, salads and dessert variations is on the menu. The focus is on fresh, high-quality ingredients. Various Dallmayr coffee and tea specialities are freshly brewed, prepared and served to guests at the coffee bar.
