Himmelreich

Simon-Dach-Straße between Warschauer Straße and Frankfurter Allee in southern Friedrichshain has long since become a tourist hotspot. Pubs, restaurants and bars are close together and happy hour is around the clock. In the midst of this vibrant scene, Himmelreich, the only gay and lesbian venue in this party district, opened its doors in 2003. A café by day, a bar by night, the crowd at this Berlin bar is as unpretentious and mixed as the establishment. A sign at the door makes sure that international visitors know that this is a gay bar. Nevertheless, straight people are always welcome. Tuesdays, the Women's Lounge offers a mainly lesbian crowd a fixed meeting place for dates or a drink after work. Himmelreich is always calm and relaxed and open to all who come to its doors.
