The bar Große Freiheit 114 has long been an institution of the gay scene, and not just because it's the only gay pub with a darkroom in Friedrichshain. As well as sailor kitsch and a local pub atmosphere, the small Berlin bar regularly offers an exciting DJ line-up and special events. The 80s parties by DJ Herr von Keil in particular are legendary, because the people who attend, many of whom are dyed-in-the-wool regulars, don't always take themselves too seriously.
