There are not many corners in Berlin where you can party directly on the banks of the River Spree. But Wrangelkiez is one of them. This quarter between Görlitzer Straße and the Spree has a lot to offer, including the legendary Watergate with the large window offering magnificent views of the river, Musik und Frieden directly next door, and the Lido, one of the top addresses for indie rock and electro parties.
Treptower Ufer
A few minutes' walk further south on the floodplain of the Landwehr Canal, you enter a microcosm all its own. Club der Visionäre is there inviting guests to party outdoors on its wooden decks especially in the summer. Other unique party locations in the immediate vicinity such as Ipse, Chalet, and the area around the Arena with the Badeschiff floating pool and the Escobar make for a perfect summery club landscape. If you're looking more for a cosy meal or a few drinks, there are also top-class addresses at the Flutgraben: Freischwimmer, Festsaal Küche, LAB Kitchen, and Ristaurante Chic all contribute to the diverse culinary offerings. If you want to plan your own celebration, you can book venues such as the restaurant boat MS Hoppetosse or Tankstelle Anhalt.
Friedrichshainer Ufer
On the other side of the river, the Friedrichshainer Ufer offers many options for an unforgettable night. Across from the famous East Side Gallery, you can catch some of the world's best musicians on stage at the Mercedes-Benz Arena. Acts that have appeared here include Bob Dylan, Taylor Swift, and the Kings of Leon.The Postbahnhof, located right next to the Ostbahnhof station, is also one of the most popular party and event locations in Berlin. Postbahnhof Club lets you boogie down to hip hop, electro, or rock.
What's the best way to get to Wrangelstraße?
Take the U1 to Schlesisches Tor and then it's about 5 minutes on foot. The N1 night bus also runs to Schlesisches Tor.
