Spam Victim is a side project by Korhan Erel that started with short compositions based on subjects lines of spam emails Korhan received over the course of several years.

These compositions were compiled into a self-released album titled “Spam Me Senseless” and has been very popular amongst visual artists and choreographers and thus were used in many dance and art projects.
After a long break from this theme, Korhan was startled into creating a piece as they started receiving a series of spam emails that had really interesting concrete poetry in them. These poems, that had no particular theme, came in German, English, Spanish and French, and were possibly written by AI or some random text generator. They were accompanied by photos of objectified women.
Korhan removed them from their “erotic” context and composed a structured improvisation piece where these poems are also read by computer voices. This piece is performed using a laptop, controllers and a modular synthesizer.
The piece was premiered at the experimen.tik series in Berlin in July.
