Joyce Moreno, born in Rio de Janeiro, is a four-time grammy-nominated singer, composer, arranger and instrumentalist. In her portfolio there are over 400 recordings of songs that she wrote herself and which were interpreted by the greatest names of Brazilian pop music.

Beyond Brazil, Joyce's work was recorded by Annie Lennox, Wallace Roney, Omara Portuondo, the Black Eyed Peas, David Sanchez, Jon Lucien, Claus Ogerman, German Mulligan, Till Brönner, Flora Purim and others.

Joyce's compositions were used in film soundtracks (e.g. the player by Robert Altman and Legally Blond by Robert Luketic), animations (the Japanese anime Wolf’s Rain, in collaboration with the composer Yoko Kanno), TV programs and theater productions.

In the early 1990s, her music from DJs all over the world, starting in London, was celebrated enthusiastically and her song Aldia de Ogum was a global hit on the dance floors with numerous remixes.

Since the beginning of her career, Joyce's trademark has been the female first-person perspective that she was the first to introduce it; She was the first Brazilian songwriter to express herself in this form and thus paved the way for countless other artists who followed her.
