As part of the exhibition "From the Time – A Kreuzberg Postcard Collection, 1890-1945," historian Uwe Fuhrmann uses images to discuss the life of Paula Thiede and the working-class milieu around 1900.
- What kind of environment did the future first female union leader grow up in at Mehringplatz?
- Where did she make contact with other union members?
- What impact did the printing technology developments of this period have on the workers in the printing works?
- And how can we research the life of a woman and worker who barely appears in many historical sources?
Afterwards, Sonja Lindhauer, one of the curators, will give a brief introduction to the exhibition.
The exhibition will be open until 8 p.m.
