Concert of the Chamber Choir of the Berlin Cathedral Choir
Words influence human thoughts and actions. They have the power to comfort and hurt. Sometimes they linger for days or even years. For centuries, power relations have ensured that women composers remained underrepresented in the world of classical music.
The Berlin Cathedral Choir Chamber Choir, under the direction of Cathedral Cantor Adrian Büttemeier, is addressing this topic in its concert program entitled "Power Words".
Contemporary choral music will be played to texts in the field of tension between power and powerlessness. Strong words from important speeches, beautiful poetry and vivid Bible verses will meet humorous snippets from telegrams and search engines. Music will be played by female composers from Germany, Great Britain, Lithuania, Sweden and the USA. This variety of styles and timbres creates varied listening experiences that aim to touch minds and hearts.

- Chamber Choir of the Berlin Cathedral Choir
