The Wombats are breaking new ground in terms of sound: They are saying goodbye to synthetic elements and opting for a warmer, experimental sound. Pulsating grooves meet creative experimentation.

The result is a modern soundscape that oscillates between tech rock and futuristic fuzz rock, while occasionally venturing into blues rock. This new style marks a further development step in the band's career and paves the way to a more mature phase of their work.

With their new album "Oh! The Ocean", which will be released in February 2025, The Wombats are opening a new chapter - musically and personally. The album represents Murphy's journey to self-reflection and his will not to avoid life's challenges. "It's about facing problems instead of avoiding them," he describes the central message of the album.

For Murphy, "Oh! The Ocean" is more than just music - it is a personal revelation. He speaks openly about fears, depression, problems and the dark side of success. Since their debut "A Guide to Love, Loss & Desperation" in 2007 and hits like "Let's Dance to Joy Division", The Wombats have had an impressive career, from indie hits to viral TikTok successes to sold-out arena tours.

Coinciding with the release, the band is embarking on their biggest tour to date. After seven arena shows in the UK, a European tour will follow, which will also reach Berlin in April 2025. The concert promises to be an emotional climax - a mix of youthful energy and thoughtful maturity that fans shouldn't miss.

"Oh! The Ocean" not only marks a turning point for Murphy and the band, but also invites listeners to face their own journey to self-discovery.
