The award-winning Circa ensemble finally returns to the Chameleon stage with a world premiere:
Wolf is a special creation for the 20th anniversary season and explores the original nature of man in haunting choreographies to the music of Ori Lichtik.
“We have never created a show this big for the Chameleon. A show that is as decidedly ‘us’ as possible,” said Yaron Lifschitz, Circa’s artistic director.
At the beginning it's all about the wildness in people: the ensemble splits into small groups and creates intense sequences of acrobatics and dance that evoke images of identity, freedom, anger and passion.
What lurks in the dark forests of the inner self and what lurks within others?
After the break, the entire ensemble returns to the spotlight. The energy on stage oscillates between frantic and sensual as the ten acrobats transform into a whirlwind of movements, caught between animal instincts and human emotions.
Wolf is Circa's latest work that premieres at the Chameleon in 2024:
An impressive homage to the complexity of humanity, the potential for change and the transformative power of the circus.
