Wizkid - Morayo Live in Berlin

Grammy-winning singer and songwriter Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, better known as Wizkid, started his musical career at the age of 11 in Lagos, Nigeria. He recorded his first album, Lil Prinz, in 2001 with Glorious Five - a music group he founded together with friends from church.


From 2006 onwards, he devoted himself to music full-time and worked with well-known Nigerian artists such as OJB Jezreel, Naeto C and Banky W. Wizkid celebrated his big breakthrough in 2011 with his debut album Superstar. The album was celebrated across Africa and made him a star in Nigeria.


His second studio album Ayo followed in 2014, which featured Femi Kuti and others. The single "Ojuelegba" brought him worldwide recognition and was later remixed by Drake and Skepta - a move that catapulted Wizkid onto the international stage. In turn, he was featured on Drake's megahit "One Dance" in 2016. The following year, Wizkid signed a deal with RCA Records and Sony International, who released his third album Sounds From the Other Side.


Wizkid set new standards with his fourth studio album Made in Lagos (2020). The album, which featured artists such as Burna Boy, Skepta, Damian Marley, H.E.R. and Ella Mai, achieved historic success:

• Highest charting position of a Nigerian album on the Billboard 200
  
• Longest charting position of a Nigerian album on the Billboard World Albums chart
  
• First African album to be RIAA Gold certified (over 500,000 units sold in the US)
  

The single "Essence" featuring Tems became the first Nigerian song to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 and reached number 1 on the US urban radio chart. His Grammy-winning collaboration with Beyoncé and five sold-out shows at the O2 Arena cemented his status as a global superstar.

In 2022, Wizkid released his fifth album More Love, Less Ego and enjoyed success with performances on Apple Music Live and his first show at the legendary Madison Square Garden.
