Insect musical - world premiere.
A musical theatre spectacle for the whole family that takes you into a magical world of insects and invites you to marvel.
Insect musical by Martin Heckmanns, based on the picture book by Carson Ellis, translated into English by Jess Jochimsen and Anja Schöne.
"Wazn Teez?" - "What's that?" ask two dragonflies as a delicate shoot peeps out of the ground in spring. As the plant grows and sprouts leaves, it is surrounded by curious beetles. Wouldn't that be a good place for a tree house? While the beetles are building, the plant continues to grow. In summer it is in full bloom - what a splendour!
"Iz an Freuenschuh!", the beetles cheer. Then comes autumn. Just as everything comes into being, it passes away again, only to sprout once more.
And when spring returns, the flower has become a meadow of flowers.
"Wazn Teez?" tells of the miracle of life, a journey through the seasons and the cohesion of a group.
The successful picture book by Carson Ellis and her linguistically witty "Insektisch" will be spun out by playwright Martin Heckmanns especially for the Parkaue.
An insect Esperanto that no one has ever heard before and yet is understandable for everyone.
Director Alexander Riemenschneider is staging a large family musical in which the ensemble transforms into a colourful and cheerful group of insects and immerses itself in the world between the blades of grass with songs and circus elements.
