Maren Strack, Kerstin Lücker, Johan Lorbeer
The world is breaking up. Everything is cancelled: glaciers and certainty. The angel of history. The middle between right and left. The shades of grey, the colours. A rosy future. As if people were standing at the station and all the trains were cancelled.
Waiting is a basic human experience and can be experienced in different states; from waiting in silence to the nervous excitement of waiting indefinitely. In her new performance, Maren Strack explores four different states.
Silent waiting stimulates listening; delicate sound images turn into hectic, exploding choreographic fits. Waiting annoys and irritates to the point of anger. Waiting can also be liberating. The faster people race towards the abyss, the more pausing becomes an act of resistance, a saving straw. Purposeless time. Descent. Reflection. Hope.
