To mark Liberation Day on May 8, the Mitte Museum is presenting a multimedia exhibition in its garden entitled "The War and I – Children of War 1939 to 1945." The exhibition focuses on the realities of life and war experiences of children during the Second World War.
Three walk-in containers in the museum garden invite visitors to immerse themselves interactively in the perspectives of children from Germany, France, and the Soviet Union between 1939 and 1945.
The themed rooms offer the opportunity to touch and try out objects, complemented by audio recordings and historical film sequences.
Young visitors in particular are encouraged to reflect on the effects of war and flight – also with regard to their own present.
