Ralle and Hannes sit at the bus stop in Briesenow, somewhere in Brandenburg. Every day. The two have been friends since school and have been together through all times. The good times, when Ralle was an engineer in an open-cast mine and Hannes was a proud agricultural scientist, are long gone. A lot happened after that: the fall of the Berlin Wall, divorces and then nothing.
