Antonio Vivaldi's The Four Seasons is one of the most famous violin concertos in baroque music and is characterised by its vivid musical depiction of the natural phenomena of the individual seasons. Each of the four concerts paints impressive pictures with virtuoso violin passages and contrasting orchestral sounds, bringing storms, birdsong or the tranquillity of winter to life.
