Victor has a personal connection to the Nueva Canción movement, as his father was a spokesperson for this socio-political movement, who opposed the Pinochet dictatorship and ultimately had to flee into exile.

In his debut album, Unidos, Victor processes his father's death and allows his father's legacy and his own relationship with his native Chile to live on through music. With the central message "Vamos Unidos," he embraces the ideals of the Nueva Canción: friendship, love, hope, and equality.
