The exhibition ‘UNSUPERVISED: Childhood Dreams & Fantasy Rebels’ opens on Friday, 1 November 2024. The artistic results of the 9th Fresh A.I.R. (Artist in Residence) year will be on display.
They offer fascinating insights into the creative exploration of the themes of childhood, play and fantasy. The twelve scholarship holders from eight European countries have been living in Berlin since January 2024 and explore childhood in all its facets in their works.
They shed light on the creative potential of children's play and its significance as a cultural force. The exhibited works range from photographic and video installations to paintings, sculptures and installations, reflecting a diverse artistic spectrum.
Participants:

Fresh A.I.R. - Free space for artistic development
The Fresh A.I.R. scholarship programme of the Berliner Leben Foundation offers artists rent-free flats for 11 months each year and a monthly stipend of up to 1,100 euros. The eleven flats, which are spread over three floors and 1,100 square metres in the north of Schöneberg, allow participants to concentrate fully on their artistic creative process. During their stay, they gain valuable impulses and experience that are of great importance for their future careers. Embedded in Berlin's cultural life and in close contact with the community, the programme offers a space for artistic development and social interaction.
