„Umbrío“ is a project by Maria Colusi in collaboration with the composer Edgardo Rudnitzky. The content of the work focuses on the exploration of the behaviour of crowds and the individual within the collective.

Collective activity can be conceptualised as a generator of a space in which the individual is taken out of themselves towards the encounter of the multiple others.

A proposal that invites the viewer to observe and listen to bodies in play between vulnerability, strength, interdependence, closeness, disorientation and trust as forms of collective resistance.

The concept of resilience has traditionally been approached at the individual level. However, the current global challenges, including economic crises, natural disasters and social tensions, demonstrate the need to consider resilience from a different perspective. This piece examines how individuals build resilience and how it manifests itself through collective practices and mutual support structures.

The piece invites the audience to experience a play between sound, visuals and dance.

„...the only way I know to deal with the difficult times we live in is generative joy and collective thinking.“ Donna Haraway (biologist and historian of science)
