Festival für neue Musik von Deutschlandfunk Kultur und radio3 vom rbb

The Meitar Ensemble from Tel Aviv is praised for its "excellence, balance and precision" and has made a name for itself internationally as one of the most important ensembles for contemporary music.

Founded in 2004, the ensemble is bringing a selection of the works commissioned for the anniversary to Berlin for its Ultraschall debut - as European premieres or even world premieres: extremely diverse works of heterogeneous provenance that deal with the present.

The concert is based on what the composer Georg Friedrich Haas puts at the beginning of his work with the programmatic title "the weak force": the "weak interaction" as one of the four fundamental forces of physics is, despite its name, the basis of the solar radiation that reaches the earth and thus of all life.
