Their personal style of arrangements, the enchanting interplay of the guitarra portuguesa, so typical of Portugal, combined with the classical cello, and the beautiful contrast between the voluminous, smoky voice of António de Brito and the velvety voice of Maria Carvalho, create a unique music.
The variety of instrumentation and the lyrical echoes of the lyrics enrich the rustic, original form of fado.
It is particularly important to the trio's musicians to always maintain and combine the balance of traditional fado with their own compositions. This is particularly evident in the song "nunca é tarde" (lyrics and vocals by Maria Carvalho), recorded by TRIO FADO for the Berlinale hit "Night Train to Lisbon."
The three musicians Maria Carvalho (vocals), António de Brito (guitar and vocals), and Benjamin Walbrodt (cello) have since performed throughout Germany and Europe, delighting countless audiences with their wonderful original compositions and passionate stage performances.
For the guitarra portuguesa, an essential part of Fado, TRIO FADO invites top-class guest musicians to their concerts.
This time, Ivo Guedes is the guest at the ufaFabrik.
