DIRK BERNEMANN's appearances at Periplaneta have been a constantly recurring, almost obsessive act for years, a mixture of Tourette's, ritual and homage - in short: tradition. His books are unique, sometimes disturbing and poetic in a very abysmal way. They often fillet the German way of life and sometimes shred it.

Mr. Bernemann lives and works in Berlin. He celebrated his breakthrough with his debut “Ich hab die Unschuld kotzen sehen”. Since then, he has published further volumes of short stories and gruelingly beautiful novels. His latest book is the novel “Kalk”. The author will also be reading new texts.
