Happy Birthday Ol’ Blue Eyes: Tom Gaebel sings Sinatra

Tom Gaebel makes music like no one else! With sophisticated arrangements and a lot of rhythm in his blood, his sound is reminiscent of the golden age when great songs were recorded in large studios with large ensembles. “That’s exactly what I always wanted to do!” is how the now seven-time Jazz Award winner describes his musical drive.

In 2015, the world celebrated the 100th birthday of Frank Sinatra, arguably the greatest entertainer of the 20th century. For Tom Gaebel, this was a worthy occasion for a special kind of musical bow: for the first time, he presented a show dedicated to the legendary US singer.
“Frank Sinatra influenced me musically like no one else,” Gaebel explains. “I bought my first Sinatra record when I was 19 and was instantly in love with that voice and that music!” A passion that also provided the decisive impetus for his own career as a singer.

Since 2005, Gaebel has released eight albums and is touring the world with his big band. Almost incidentally, he has earned the reputation of the “German Sinatra” among fans and critics alike and is even considered the best interpreter of the world-famous songs of Ol’ Blue Eyes in Europe.
