court drama by Ferdinand von Schirach

In order to prevent a terrorist from crashing a passenger plane he had hijacked into the packed Allianz Arena, the German army pilot Lars Koch decides to shoot down the passenger plane, contrary to orders - 164 people are killed in order to save 70,000.

The large criminal chamber of the Berlin jury court is discussing whether Lars Koch can be found guilty of the murder. The defense is citing a balancing decision, since the pilot's actions saved thousands of people's lives. The prosecution accuses the pilot of disobeying orders, but above all of disregarding human dignity, since by calculating human lives he instrumentalized the passengers, who nevertheless have just as much right to life as everyone else.

The audience makes the verdict with an anonymous vote on the guilt or innocence of the accused and thus on the judge's verdict.
