Teens Workshop: The colorful world of portrait photography

Can a portrait tell a story? What role do clothing, background and props play? Can colors express feelings? How can I use form and light to achieve a certain look?

In his portraits and fashion photographs, Tyler Mitchell presents calm, positive, highly aesthetic images of his models. We visit his exhibition "Wish this was real", delve into the themes and aesthetics of this master of beauty and elegance and let ourselves be inspired.

By looking at and comparing the work of other great photographers, the participants approach the core principles of staged portrait photography.

Of course, the young participants also get active themselves, learn or deepen the technical basics of using a camera and try out playing with colors and shape.

They style and design with backgrounds, clothes and props and use light, pose and expression to put each other in the spotlight - outside and in the real photo studio at C/O Berlin.
