Vor der Ehe wollt ich ewig leben

Everyone knows it: the fatigue in the relationship. When, after ten years, you look helplessly into your partner's face and realize: "Before marriage, I wanted to live forever. Almost everyone once had their dreams of a happy and fulfilled existence. And what is left of it? At 25, you marry the person who makes you lose your mind.... - and at 50 you realize that you have succeeded.

But is marriage really outdated, despite high divorce rates? Are single lives, evening partners and online dating portals a viable alternative?

Can't the old institution of marriage be modernized? For men today, for example, it's not important that a woman can cook, but that she doesn't know a good lawyer. In the meantime, men know anyway: He who is on top has to do the dishes.

The only thing that matters today is that the relationship is balanced: one is right, the other is the husband. Marriage also has its good sides. You come home and always have the same reference person who rejects you. Marriage doesn't have to be boring either. You can also take out life insurance on each other, then it has the great tension of who wins.

There are just a few rules that have to be followed. The most important one is: faithfulness. Many people can't do that. Why not? It works for animals, too. Penguins are faithful to each other for life - but they all look the same.

Stephan Bauer is setting a good example and has (once again) gone before the wedding altar, true to the motto: "Marriage is stupidity for reason. Why not? "We've been together for five years, we argue a lot, we don't have much sex - then we might as well make it official."

Stephan Bauer's program is, as always, punchy mega-fun, but also an open reckoning with the singles society, eroding values and the feeling that "anything goes".
