Large symphonies and instrumental concertos usually dominate the Staatskapelle Berlin's programs when it performs on concert stages in Berlin and around the world. But in this special concert program, the orchestra, together with its General Music Director, embarks on a musical journey of discovery back to the decades when people sat rapt in front of the radio, listening to the sounds from the airwaves – sounds that combined symphonic depth with jazzy lightness.
