The Flood is a myth of tremendous destruction and new beginnings. In the Gilgamesh epic, in the Bible, in Greek mythology and in many other myths of the world, God or the gods revoke creation in their anger - above all, man. With a powerful gesture, they wipe the table and make a tabula rasa on the world that is now built and arranged and in orbit.

The beginning, chaos returns, the heavens collapse, the mythical rivers of Eden flood, the waters below and above the fortress mix again, and the earth is under the rule of water. The chaos is that of water, with its terrible weight and destructive power of the depths - it is also a chance for survival and a new beginning. Chaos has always been watery, hasn't it? Remember?

It all became so hard. What everything became, how the world became, how our lives became. What can be done and what is worth doing. It's as if everything is drifting away.

Everything is drifting away.

Second attempt. From the water, through the water, maybe something can be brought across. Maybe it will work better the second time.

How can I survive? How can I live? What do I take with me? Do I need anything at all? Do I pay attention and take care or do I sleep, do I sleep through the end of the world, like I slept through my whole life? What do you give me, sea, after you have cast me out of you: the first scream, the cry, the call: my voice? And a name that I will listen to?

A smoke approaches in the distance. A scattered, steamy mist, a gray-green haze, a shimmering, sourceless light. Unstoppably swirling, its sound vibrates deeply and floats metallically high at the same time, its tempo is destructively slow and unimaginably, incomprehensibly fast. It is in the distance, but it is rising. It is far away, but it is spreading.

It is above us.

It is here.
