With Clinging Knots, 68projects by KORNFELD is proud to present Shanee Roe’s first solo exhibition at the gallery.

Roe’s work strips away idealisation to uncover the raw, unfiltered experience of intimacy. Her figures, often playful yet unsettling, occupy states of vulnerability—clumsy, exposed, fragmented. These bodies are not polished or hidden but rendered in their full, fleshy honesty.

Clinging Knots invites us to examine how we perceive beauty, desire, and discomfort. Through ambiguity and emotional tension, Roe challenges romanticised narratives around closeness and sensuality, creating space for complex questions about connection and vulnerability.

Her paintings don’t offer easy answers but instead open a dialogue with the viewer—one that is at once tender, messy, and deeply human.
