The Story of Angela Reinhardt (by Michail Krausnick)
Berlin-born author, radio playwright, and screenwriter Michail Krausnick was himself a child of war. In his moving novel "Goodbye in Heaven," he explores the fate of the Sinti girl Angela Reinhardt, who is separated from her parents, declared an orphan, and placed in the care of a Catholic children's home. When Angela is about to be deported to Auschwitz along with the other children, a slap in the face from a nun saves her life.
Actress, voice artist, and drama teacher Vera Kreyer reads excerpts from a story that is particularly stirringly relevant today.
