Works by J.S. Bach & I.C. Rieg

Iris Rieg was born in Schwäbisch Gmünd. She has won numerous prizes at international organ and church music competitions in Kortrijk, Fürth, Linz, Laubach and Brixen. She studied school music with 1st state examination, church music A, organ diploma and concert examination in organ in Stuttgart and Detmold with Bernhard Haas, Gerhard Weinberger and Renate Zimmermann.


She has been working freelance since 2011. Her international concert activities have taken her repeatedly to important concert venues. Iris Rieg is a lecturer at the Archbishop's Music School of the Cologne Cathedral Choir for organ, improvisation and piano and has teaching positions at the University of Cologne for children's choir conducting, practical piano playing at schools and organ.

In 2021 she received the Neustart Kultur Klassik scholarship from the German Music Council. In 2024, Bärenreiter will publish both volumes of her bilingual improvisation school Fire and Colour - Modern Harmonization on the Organ.
