CHRISTIANE MICHEL-OSTERTUN is a professor of organ improvisation at the colleges of church music in Herford and Heidelberg. She gives numerous courses and organ concerts, including improvisation to silent films. The methodology of organ improvisation is particularly important to her, and she has published several textbooks and over 100 YouTube tutorials on the subject.


She also composes works for organ, choir, wind instruments and oratorios for stage performances. Her organ concerts for children have been widely popular not only in Germany. As a choir director, she regularly performs oratorios with the "Ludwigshafen Choir for Sacred Music" and also leads the "Cantabile" chamber choir.

Christiane Michel-Ostertun studied organ, piano and church music in Detmold, Stuttgart and Karlsruhe. She graduated with the state music teacher examination, the A-examination and the concert examination.
