Works by F. Tunder, J.S. Bach, K. Huber, P. Hindemith and A. Schönberg

Roman Summereder, born in 1954, has been involved in church music since childhood in his homeland of Upper Austria. Studies in Vienna (church music, organ with Anton Heiller, music theory and composition with Kurt Schwertsik) and Brussels (harpsichord with Robert Kohnen) were followed by work as a répétiteur in Linz and Vienna and, since 1979/80, a teaching career at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.

Roman Summereder gives concerts on historical and modern instruments. His repertoire focuses on the 20th and 21st centuries, as evidenced by CD recordings of modern classics (Schönberg, Hindemith, David, Krenek, Messiaen, Reda, Ligeti) as well as numerous world premieres and first performances (including Welmers, Radulescu, Estermann, Sauseng, Susteck, Essl, Maintz)

His world's first complete recording of the organ works of Anton Heiller and the three-part cross-section of the organ works of J.N. David (label AMBIENTE) received great attention.

Since 2020, Roman Summereder has been organist in residence at the St. Pölten Cathedral Music: every year he presents specially developed, representative programs on the Metzler organ in the Lower Austrian cathedral.
