On the opening evening of Musikfest Berlin 2024, the São Paulo Big Band will perform at the Philharmonie Berlin on 24 August.

European harmonies, syncopated African rhythms and pieces by internationally renowned names such as Caetano Veloso and Hermeto Pascoal come together in the São Paulo Big Band's arrangements.
The "música popular", with its complex rhythms that can be heard everywhere and always in Brazil, reflects the attitude to life of an entire nation.
A dance like the frevo from Pernambuco, for example, is a must at carnival street parades and has been a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Site since 2012.
